Abstract. The article examines applied aspects of the Study of Religion, indicates the relevance of the results of the study of religion in the scientific paradigm. In particular, attention is paid to the encyclopedic nature as the most important principle of the presentation of objectified knowledge of religion that take place in religious studies and designed for a broad audience, as well as practical religious studies that provide a realistic picture of the dynamics of the religious situation in the country and the world as a whole (sociological research), and also in many respects are one of the tools of law enforcement practice (religious studies expertise).
