The article explores with the history of sectarianism in Yakutia through its reflection on the materials of the printed press. This research is based on news stories, essays, and notes about exiled Skoptsy and Dukhobors published in the newspaper “Vostochnoye Obozreniye” (“"Eastern Review”, 1882–1906), whose deportation was determined by mass character and localization of settlements. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that in order to reconstruct the history of sectarianism in Yakutia, attention is drawn to the publications in “Vostochnoye Obozreniye” for the first time. Thus, the relevance of the research topic is due to the great information potential of the newspaper and the need to expand the source base on the stated topic. The analysis of publications made it possible to identify several storylines and build this work in accordance with them.
