The implementation of sacred quotations from the Bible, within the context of Armenian medieval historiography written in the classical Armenian language (Grabar), was the indispensable tradition in the Armenian history composition. It should be noted that the approach has been widespread among the Armenian historians since the 5th century. The article presents an attempt to carry out an analysis of the sacred quotations in the historical work of Aristakes Lastivertsi (11th century) and compare them with the Russian and English translations. The comparative research aims at revealing the style and the language of Aristakes Lastivertsi, as well as the mechanisms of Bible quotation transmission in the Russian and English translations. The main conclusion is that the sacred quotations reflect the linguistic intention and the strata of Armenian historiographer.
