The article studies the state of religious identity of the Mongolian peoples in the context of globalization. Religious identity of the Buryats, Kalmyks, Mongols and other peoples, was historically formed through the synthesis of Buddhism and pre-Buddhist (shamanic) traditions, acts as a resource for ethnic and cultural consolidation today. This is based on the combination of sustainable traditional practices and adaptive mechanisms to ensure integration into the rapidly changing polycentric world. The article analyzes how traditional forms of religious identity are transformed under the influence of globalization processes, concluding that religious identity in the 21st century among Mongolian peoples is a flexible, historically loaded structure that maintains internal ethnic cohesion, yet requires reconsideration in new contexts of cultural interaction. Nowadays the religious identity of Mongolian peoples demonstrates a significant degree of involvement in the processes of global intercultural interaction. The religious identities of the Mongols, Kalmyks, and Buryats are not relics of the past in today's global and polycentric world, but rather a living and flexible system that can respond to the challenges of globalization. This forms a unique form of cultural identity, allowing ethnic groups such as the Mongols to simultaneously preserve their historical heritage and be active participants in modern socio-cultural processes.
