The problem of comprehension of religious and philosophical texts is always in question. In this paper the author presents his personal experience of the shift from the materialistic paradigm in which he was brought up to the theistic picture of the world with the help of appropriate religious, philosophical, and scientific sources and, most importantly, – believers. At the beginning of the work, two mathematical examples illustrating the essence of the problem are given. Using the works of famous philosophers and scientists (like ancient India and China, and new time ones – Ilyin I.A., V.S. Solovyov, Berdyaev N.A. Yushkevich P., Losev A.F., Frank, S.L., Spengler O., Ortega y Gasset J., Radhakrishnan S., Grof S., Wilber K., Capra F.), the author demonstrates that the problem of constructing a unified picture of the world is not solvable in the framework of materialistic science, and any “knowledge” about nature is practically based on the myth that is not fully understood by scientists. It further states about the practice and the teachers of the author, the latter briefly presents the ancient Indian concept of the universe, to which, in fact, the modern science comes, and which is the basis of the story-game picture of the world that has been for a long time the subject of the work of the author. In conclusion, the Sufi tradition (Ibn al-Arabi, Jalaladdin Rumi, Hazrat Inayat Khan, Idris Shah), which had a special impact on the transformation of the author’s worldview, is considered; the decisive role of the Creator in spiritual development, and the fate of every being in the world, is noted.
