The article provides a brief overview of a unique collection of Protestant literature from the Rare Book Collection of the State Museum of the History of Religion. Book monuments presented in the article illustrate the main trends and genres of Protestant religious thought in the 16th – 18th centuries. Experience of studying, describing and systematizing them shows that: 1) Protestant literature in the museum collection can be considered as a separate, original collection within the Rare Book Collection. 2) This collection is characterized by confessional, genre, linguistic, and geographical diversity. It allows to consider the collection unique both within the framework of the State Museum of the History of Religion and a on a nationwide level. 3) The Protestant collection requires further study and can be used for exhibitions, scientific and educational activities in museums.
